Reviewing Literature

Welcome traveller!

I am The Fragrant Wookiee (don't ask, it's a long and highly improbable story) and this site is for the understated multitudes of fans of Fantasy, Science Fiction and Horror literature out there.  You know who you are!

*659 books reviewed to date*

*330 writers*

LAST UPDATED: 24/04/10

Before reading any of the reviews on this site, it may be worth taking a few minutes to read this and hopefully we can avoid any insult (or expensive court cases!).

If you have any comments about the site (praise is preferred but complaints will be read!) or if you want to discuss the fantasy, SF and horror genres then keep scrolling down until you find a link to my e-mail.

If you'd like to submit your own review to the site use the e-mail link and you might well see it online thereafter as a guest review.

UPDATE: I've now begun adding the first lines of the novels to the review so you can see whether it grips you.

The use of this site is so remarkably easy that not only will you have already figured it out, but you will also find yourself remarking 'My, the use of this site is easy'.  Just check out the list of authors to the left of the page and click away.

I've also added a new site navigation page to help you find authors by genre.

If you just want to see what book I think you should read next, or what to avoid like the plague, I've added new 'Best of the Best' and 'Worst of the Rest' pages, found at the very top of the left-hand menu.

Be aware, however, that the site is a work-in-progress, so there may be some mistakes or gaps I've yet to fill.

Here's a quick key to my ratings:

5 out of 5 = Brilliant

4 out of 5 = Good

3 out of 5 = Nothing special

2 out of 5 = Pretty poor

1 out of 5 = God awful

LATEST REVIEW:  'The Strange Case Of Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde & The Merry Men And Other Tales And Fables' by Robert Louis Stevenson

COMING SOON:  'The Quest For Lost Heroes' by David A. Gemmell

And remember people;

See the chuffling, feel the shine.

See the drippling, feel the flollop.

(Special thanks to Karen Traviss, Paul Collins, Charlie Hamilton James, Matthew Rowe, Wadders, Dr. Joint and Elephanto)

PS - Join my campaign to eradicate the crime-against-expression that is the word 'unputdownable'! (And I use the term 'word' very loosely!)
